Welcome

elcome to The Subway Filter! This is a blog that records the comings and goings of people on New York's city's F train subway line. You will learn, in great detail, about the people of NYC, who they are, and where they're coming from. In the form of pictures taken at every stop of the F line, you will see the kinds of people who will get on, and off. You will explore the F train, from the crowded, claustrophobic Broadway-Lafayette and 2nd Avenue stops to the almost empty, bizarrely peaceful Coney Island and Sheepshead Bay stations. Enjoy, and remember, after experiencing this blog, you will always get a seat on the F train!

  1. As a former rider myself, I was pleased to see some familiar faces in your pictures in the posting from March 7. Even though I moved on and take helicopters for my daily commute for the past 18 years, the face of that kid on the Avenue H station will stay with me forever. I remember him back then as he was smiling from his sling carrier. His smile is still as bright as the sunshine. Though, it seems that carrying him now becomes somewhat of a chore for his aging mother.

Anyway, great job, Roman. Keep those posts coming.
